Session Type: Professional Development
San Francisco State University has gained considerable experience in open-source application management through its offering of Moodle as its official learning management system. Distributed units have also contributed to campus expertise with the development of homegrown open-source applications. A recent reorganization of the Academic Technology unit has combined this experience into an overall strategy to pursue open-source solutions as a means to enhance support and services for faculty and students. This session will examine current open-source integration projects and how the campus has handled issues related to teaching and learning, technology management, and organizational administration.
