Cloud Computing Policy and Legal Issues

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 | 4:30PM–5:30PM | King Arthur's Court/Third Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
As institutions explore alternative IT sourcing strategies, including cloud computing, there are a variety of policy and legal issues that must be carefully considered as part of the planning process. The privacy and security implications of outsourced data handling, leveraging federated identity management for software as a service, contract terms and conditions, and intellectual property rights are among the many challenges to be addressed. This discussion session will provide an overview of the policy and legal issues to consider and provide an opportunity for the sharing of effective practices and solutions.
