Guiding the E-Researcher

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 | 10:30AM–11:15AM | Seville East/First Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
We conduct research to create new knowledge, to distill fresh insights from the collective experience of people knowledgeable about the subject of inquiry. In our digitally-connected age researchers can draw from more diverse research participants to create the knowledge we need to understandour changing world. With today's synchronous tools interviewers and interviewees can talk, see each other and use text or visual communications. Online research offers new opportunities but raises new questions about research ethics, design and conduct. This interactive session will survey e-research approaches and considerations for faculty, advisors and others who directly or indirectly support research activities.
