Blogging into Learning

Wanted: Readers of medieval poetry. Warning: Heavy in moralizing and allegorical figures. How do we engage students in learning difficult and dense material in the curriculum? This session will demonstrate how to stimulate learning through the use of Epsilen, wikis, blogs, toonlet, and video. The collaborative use of digital technology transformed a traditional English literature course into an interactive workshop that permitted students to "own" the literature and create and share what they learned. Participants will gain strategies on how to transform traditional courses into innovative, tech-based ones, and they will get hands-on experience with an e-portfolio and performance-based learning strategies.
