Effective Change Management: Concurrent Rollout of Google Apps and Active Directory at UMD

Effective change management practices are critical when addressing major technology changes, driven in higher education by shrinking budgets, growing security mandates, and increasing user expectations. The presenters will demonstrate their successful navigation of two simultaneous major transitions: Novell into Active Directory, and institutional e-mail to Google Apps. Their strategy required a combination of excellent communication, active stakeholder engagement, and constant collaboration.
