How Teaching Adults in a Blended Program Can Lead to Pedagogical Transformation

Tuesday, March 15, 2011 | 9:30AM–10:15AM | Seville West/First Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
Faculty demands in higher education are changing dramatically due to an increase in the adult student population and in course delivery formats. Results of a qualitative study will be shared to understand how faculty describe the opportunities, challenges, and lessons learned to prepare to teach and manage multiple course delivery formats to meet the needs of adult learners. A faculty learning model will be discussed that explains how the experience of teaching opposite course delivery formats helps faculty reflect and transform teaching and learning of multiple course delivery formats. Study findings and how to apply them to faculty development will be discussed.
