In this presentation, we will explore the University of Michigan's approach to meeting the ongoing need for additional machine room space in difficult financial times. The importance of locating the right applications and hardware in the right space will be discussed, as well as the UM's investigation of and move to an alternative data center solution that uses modular data center technology. We will also address the pros and cons of a modular data center solution and the financial business case.
