Our careers in technology require that we develop broad skill sets in areas other than technology. IT leaders identify the ability to negotiate, positively and creatively, as an essential professional development skill. For the technology professional, there may be one obvious answer that's rational and logical. But those we work with on a daily basis—campus leaders, faculty, and vendors—-may have very different approaches and solutions. Our success will require that we understand how to collaborate and build mutually acceptable agreements. Join us as we explore different aspects of successful negotiations. We'll try different techniques and build a personal set of tools that we can bring to any negotiation.
