Usability Testing: Workshop Handouts and Online Guides

Tuesday, March 15, 2011 | 2:30PM–3:30PM | Empire/Seventh Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
At the University of Michigan Graduate Library, updating instructional technology workshop handouts takes a significant amount of staff time and effort. We explored ways to slim down, not eliminate, current handouts and leverage online resources created inside and outside the University of Michigan while still maintaining quality. Software websites provide step-by-step instructions and resources for a variety of tasks that we cover in our workshops. By looking at how different patron groups use our handouts and the ways they learn about and troubleshoot technology questions, we can gain the knowledge needed to provide content in the most effective and efficient way.
