Using Student-Centered Development Teams to Rapidly Create Web-Enabled and Mobile Applications

Monday, March 14, 2011 | 5:45PM–6:30PM | Seville West/First Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
In this interactive presentation we will examine the formation and implementation of student-centered "rapid development teams" for the construction of web- and mobile-based applications. These rapid development teams involve a collaboration of students and faculty/staff members to produce real-world projects that are used within and outside our units. Student involvement provides a lower-cost alternative to hiring full-time or contract developers and produces high-quality products while allowing students to develop and hone their skills. Participants will learn about the planning, implementation, and evaluation of such a program.
