Addressing Organizational Change with Needs Assessment

Wednesday, June 01, 2011 | 5:45PM–6:30PM | Grand Ballroom Salons G & H
Session Type: Professional Development
Academic institutions are faced with change. Economic and societal factors are affecting services and products, markets, budgets, technology, and organizational structures. These changes can be reactive or planned. In this presentation, a data-driven needs assessment approach will be discussed, including how it can be used to ensure that changes are aligned with the organizational mission/vision and the needs of stakeholders. An example will be highlighted of how a central IT department conducted a university-wide needs assessment with all IT stakeholders, including administration, teaching faculty, students, research faculty, and IT employees.
