"Going Mobile" with University Web Services

Wednesday, June 01 | 5:45PM–6:30PM | Grand Ballroom Salons A-C
Session Type: Professional Development
User-friendly and affordable mobile devices capable of navigating the web are ubiquitous today. To stay competitive, institutions must consider offering services that can be consumed from these mobile devices. By offering mobile services using web technologies rather than as native applications, institutions can reduce development effort while targeting a broad range of devices, i.e., develop "device-agnostic" applications. This session will provide an overview of the mobile strategy at the University of Mississippi and invite a discussion on the challenges faced and lessons learned in implementing a mobile web strategy.
