Networking: It's Not Just a Party
Wednesday, June 01, 2011 | 3:30PM–4:15PM | Grand Ballroom Salons G & H
Session Type:
Professional Development
Many people think of professional or social networking as circulating around a room and exchanging business cards, primarily for the purpose of ascending the professional ladder. However, the art of networking and the reasons for doing it have expanded exponentially. Networking has become not only essential for getting the job and advancing in it, but it's also crucial for facilitating success within that job. A broader view of professional and social networking is that it creates a pool of contacts from which you can draw leads, referrals, and new ideas. This session will focus on how to network effectively, both in person and online, and how to leverage those contacts to help you do an outstanding job wherever you are in your career.
