Overcoming Announcement Overload

Thursday, June 02 | 2:30PM–3:30PM | Grand Ballroom Foyer
Session Type: Professional Development
Campus e-mail announcements can come from anyone at any time, with more urgent ones often being obscured by less important ones. At the University of Mississippi, "Ole Miss Today" was developed to rein in the amount of spam campus was sending itself and to become the point of entry for messages to be broadcast to targeted groups. Combined into a single prioritized daily e-mail, OMT presents readers with a "morning edition" of all the day's announcements. It also provides authorized admins with a single interface to post messages to the main website, to send urgent messages immediately, and to send text messages.
