Shared Shelf: A Community-Developed, Cloud-Based Image Cataloging and Management Platform

Wednesday, June 01, 2011 | 4:45PM–5:30PM | Myers Park/Dilworth
Session Type: Professional Development
Shared Shelf, a new web-based enterprise-level image management software, is being developed by ARTstor and nine partners (Colby College, Cornell University, Harvard University, Middlebury College, New York University, Society of Architectural Historians, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Miami, and Yale University) in response to the needs of the higher education community for greater efficiency, increased interoperability, and ability to share digital content. As part of this functionality, it will also enable the use of shared cataloging vocabularies for cultural images and provide tools that will allow users to submit new records to a shared authority pool.
