Vodcasting/Podcasting to Go

Thursday, June 02, 2011 | 2:30PM–3:30PM
Session Type: SERC11
An undergraduate campus received a demonstration grant to develop and disseminate vodcasts (video podcasts) for students. A campus committee wrote and produced a series of concise vodcasts on using ID cards, locating library books, setting up computers in dorms, and other essential skills, resulting in a virtual campus tour. Also, students in physics, biology, and information sciences had access to tutorials. Included in the production were students who not only acted in the videos but also assisted in production. Production of vodcasts is easy to learn, inexpensive, and fast. Efforts are under way to expand the number of videos to all areas of campus life.
