In August 2010, Houston Community College began implementation of a completely new version of its public-facing content management system. This system was developed in conjunction with a contractor on the open-source platform Plone and was implemented using a deliberate strategy centered on usability. Within 30 days, this system added 652 faculty, 1,157 course (and course syllabi), and 2,658 content resources with minimal training and support.
