Please Steal My Cheese: Letting Go and Leading Clients Toward Product Ownership

Wednesday, February 23, 2011 | 4:45PM–5:30PM | Governor's Ballroom Salon A
Session Type: Professional Development, WSWRC11
The Division of Student Affairs at Texas A&M University houses over 600 staff members passionate about student success. Our IT department historically has been serving requesters individually, even if it meant duplicating products and services. This presentation will discuss how we pursued a paradigm shift in business rule ownership by "letting go" and empowering our clients to own the problem and the solution, and how this shift dramatically reduced redundant requests. We will detail how IT's partnership in this process moved a product idea from one small group to the enterprise level.
