Using Mobile Technology for Laboratory Instruction

Field work and mobile learning seem a natural fit. But m-learning can be useful in other settings. In this session, we will demonstrate how we apply eTime, a technology integration model, to deliver science laboratory instruction using the m-learning app GuideView and the resulting learning experience. We'll outline the development process and skills required and discuss the pros and cons of using this m-learning solution. Pilot data from a nursing course will be presented, including student and instructor feedback. Lastly, participants will engage in a short exercise applying the eTime model to their teaching and learning challenges and brainstorm possible solutions.
