From Blackboard to Sakai in the Blink of an Eye

Miami University recently converted from Blackboard to Sakai for its collaborative learning environment. From decision to implementation, this effort was successfully accomplished in under 18 months. We'll explore how we transformed the culture and relationship between IT and the faculty by engaging them and giving them control. We'll discuss the decision-making process, the various strategies (e.g., organizational change, budgetary impacts, and faculty and technical staff training) that were used to execute the decision, as well as the outcomes and implications for the core mission of teaching and learning at Miami.
