Perspectives on Lecture Recording in a Medical Curriculum
Perspectives on Lecture Recording in a Medical Curriculum
Monday, March 26 | 5:45PM–6:30PM | Vevey 1-2, 2nd Floor
Session Type:
Professional Development
Before implementing lecture capture the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois wanted to determine whether it offered sufficient value to students and faculty in a medical curriculum. Without solid evidence of the value, we looked for a solution that was inexpensive, scalable and fully automated. We met these objectives using Apple's Podcast Producer for recording, Perl scripts for automation and iTunes U for authorized distribution. As the value to students and the College became clear, we scaled up the solution. We will share our approach to the pedagogical and technical concerns of introducing lecture capture into a curriculum.
