The Role of IT in an Energy Efficient Campus

Monday, March 26 | 5:45PM–6:30PM | Zurich B
Session Type: Professional Development
Universities are faced with unprecedented challenges to contain rising energy costs. Building inefficiencies are the largest contributors to energy waste and misuse of material resources, which result not only in larger electric bills but also a larger carbon footprint. Since buildings are the primary energy consumers on campus, there is a need to gather disparate information from a variety of IP-enabled building automation systems, analyze the data and present a real time visualization of it in order to make substantive decisions. A strong facilities and IT partnership is critical to the success of any such program.
