Transforming Teaching and Learning with Cloud Resources

Cloud computing resources like Amazon Web Services and Google App Engine provide students access to a low barrier, high power, creativity-enabling platform on which the future of teaching, learning, and research is being built. As a first step to a cloud-powered educational evolution, this session outlines the introduction of cloud computing resources to a University of Michigan honors undergraduate class of students with diverse educational backgrounds and interests. The observed challenges and successes of this in-class experiment lay the foundation for future efforts to provide advanced, innovation-inspiring technology to educational environments of all ages.
