Apple NetBoot: Effective strategies for managing groups of Macs and engaging faculty in lab image creation

Thursday, February 23 | 12:45PM–1:30PM | Galleria North, Ballroom Level
Session Type: Professional Development
Instructional technologists and IT support staff, especially those in small IT organizations, often struggle with effective ways to manage Macs in labs or grouped environments. Apple NetBoot technology dramatically improves management and support efficiency and helps create a uniform end-user experience. As an added "halo" effect, the NetBoot implementation increased engagement between IT staff and faculty's pedagogical designs and goals. Participants will hear about Whitman's experiences with NetBoot, and the speakers will interact with attendees to provide a procedural outline of the steps/tools they need to implement NetBoot at their home institutions.
