Effectively Engaging Teachers and Learners through Universal Design for Learning

Thursday, February 23 | 4:30PM–6:00PM | Broadway III, Plaza Level
Session Type: Professional Development
An increasingly prominent pedagogical and policy strategy, Universal Design for Learning offers a framework to guide teaching practices in support of student achievement. This workshop will engage participants in several exercises, including "UDL Syllabus Rubric" and "9 Critical Elements of UDL." Participants will be given a wealth of resources, such as online video case stories of UDL implementation across disciplines, and orientation and access to UDL-Universe, an online professional development portal with detailed UDL and accessibility curricula. Finally, they will receive an overview of project data, showing the impact UDL course changes have on students with or without disabilities.
