SharePoint Governance: The Value of an Institution-Specific Approach

Thursday, February 23 | 12:45PM–1:30PM | Broadway III, Plaza Level
Session Type: Professional Development
SharePoint has a huge potential to be effective in providing a consolidated framework for storing and sharing information; but this potential will only be realized if the implementation, ongoing operational maintenance, and long-term growth are all well-governed for consistency and purpose. It can be tempting to use stock governance templates rather than develop governance plans that are specific to your organization. Unfortunately, adopting another organization's governance approach will not result in effective governance. In this session we will share our experience moving from an ungoverned SharePoint implementation to one that is well-governed with engagement from resources across campus.
