Taking the Library to the LMS: A Collaborative Solution for Online Classrooms

Just as the Millar Library is a noteworthy building at the heart of Portland State University's physical campus, we sought to make the library's online presence central to the student experience of PSU's online campus. Our solution was a library widget for the home page of every online course. Having library access embedded in courses creates a logical context for library use and a more seamless experience for the user. This session will demonstrate how the distance learning librarian collaborated with instructional designers, IT staff, and other librarians to embed the library more deeply in online courses.
