Vocabulary Building across the Disciplines: An E-Reader Initiative

Based on a successful series of pilot courses that used e-reader functions to significantly improve student vocabulary, we are now exploring new opportunities for vocabulary building that targets a larger student population. The ability to download a wide variety of default dictionaries onto an e-reader device is the key to widening the scope of successful vocabulary building in a number of diverse disciplines. This presentation will demonstrate how using e-reader dictionary functions can teach, encourage, and habituate students to the learning of specified vocabulary.
