Building Community, Adopting Technology, and Enhancing Communication through Social Learning Networks

Davenport University has developed two social learning network tools that work in tandem to strengthen community and communication between faculty and staff by providing continuous and dynamic learning and growth opportunities for Davenport as new information is produced and shared. The sites connect faculty and staff through short videos, document sharing, and Q&A forums and are maintained separately from Davenport's student-facing LMS to provide dedicated faculty and staff professional development options. This session will review our decision to develop these tools, share demonstrations, and help participants assess communication needs that could be addressed through similar solutions.
