How Can Digital Technology Help Liberal Education?
Wednesday, March 20, 2013 | 9:30AM–10:15AM | Zurich C
Session Type:
Professional Development
Liberal learning pedagogies traditionally require face-to-face student-faculty interactions. Digital technology can be used to develop activities that support liberal learning in large group settings. Activities can include personalized analyses of areas of weakness, active self-evaluation, personalized curricula within a single course, and transfer of knowledge to new settings. Procedures for implementing these activities will be discussed in an interactive format encouraging the generation of additional ideas for activities. The result will be a rubric of pedagogies and activities that define new directions in instructional development that support liberal education.
