Tuesday, March 19, 2013 | 2:30PM–3:30PM | St. Gallen, 2nd Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
In the always advancing world of information and communications technology (ICT) it is imperative that faculty maintain the cutting edge skill set required to be effective, and that students come to expect. The presentation reviews existing research and literature on student? perceptions of ICT faculty and programs. A focus is placed on how faculty who teach ICT at institutions of varying Carnegie classifications, with varying credential requirements, face challenges relating to their technological and pedagogical skills, as well as their perceptions of their skill-based readiness, how students perceive that readiness, and its link to problematic student persistence.
