This presentation will showcase the use of predictive analytics to improve freshmen retention at the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. Results enabled development of intervention programs to help the institution navigate a challenging environment while improving the quality of the undergraduate academic experience. Participants will learn about the requirements and expected outcomes of the implementation of predictive analytics for the improvement of freshmen retention. We will overview the elements of the analytical modeling and outcomes assessment and discuss the results and organizational involvement required to put them in practice.
