Comics for Learning: Developing a Unique Instructional Technology through Cross-Departmental Collaboration

Library and art faculty from Lehman College collaborated with art student interns to create The Researchers, a web comic that introduces undergraduates to information literacy topics. The comic vividly demonstrates the potential of interdepartmental collaborations to generate unique instructional tools. This interactive presentation will begin with an overview of the web comic project. Attendees will have the opportunity to read the comic and identify learning opportunities embedded within it. The session will conclude with a review of the first efforts at assessing the effectiveness of the comic as a learning object.
