Strategic Planning, Portfolio Management, and Assessment: An Integrated Approach

Wednesday, February 13, 2013 | 2:30PM–3:30PM | Capitol Ballroom A-D
Session Type: Professional Development

Successful strategic planning and management require finding and documenting the threads that connect the highest level strategy to how IT staff spend their time day-to-day. We will demonstrate how an integrated approach to planning, portfolio management, and assessment can help the IT organization focus on its strategic role. By tying these sometimes disparate activities together, strategic planning becomes a practical management tool. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how they can use strategic planning to ensure that IT advances campus objectives, with practical guidelines that enable them to implement an approach that will work within their organizational culture.
