Water106: Connecting Students and Faculty through an Issues-Based Online Learning Community
Water106: Connecting Students and Faculty through an Issues-Based Online Learning Community
Wednesday, February 12, 2014 | 2:30PM–3:30PM
Session Type:
Professional Development
Water106 is a learning environment that supports differential participation and encourages cross-course and cross-discipline interaction. It provides a commons for students and faculty to share resources on a central issue (in this case, water policy) and offers structured opportunities for them to engage in collective learning projects that have real-world impact. This session will show how different institutional participants were able to construct radically different experiences for their students out of the same learning environment. Presenters will be available to discuss how the Water106 model can be applied to solve a range of pressing educational technology and pedagogical problems.
