Session Type: Professional Development
From Knowledge to Know-How: Data-Driven Adaptive Learning Modern learning environments are suffused with educational technologies designed to aid student learning in and out of classrooms. Institutions' ability to continuously learn and adapt determines the extent to which learners thrive. We will highlight two case studies examining practical uses of data-infused intelligence. First, we'll explore how the University of Kentucky is developing real-time learning analytics infrastructure to analyze massive amounts of student "clickstream" event data collected from educational technology platforms and respond rapidly though personalized messaging. Next, we'll investigate how lynda.com offers responsive strategies for data-driven learning success across organizations, as well as how integrating learning strategies driven by intelligent data and cognitive science fosters academic discovery, research, and institutional know-how.

OUTCOMES: Learn how to use real-time analytics to support personalized learning * Analyze the use of data-driven system-wide services to further learning success * Explore challenges in assessment of both personalized and institutional learning outcomes using data-driven strategies
