Tightening Our Belt with Six Sigma

Thursday, March 03, 2016 | 2:00PM–2:30PM | Ballroom Pre-Function, Lower Level 2
Session Type: Professional Development
We will demonstrate how the application of Six Sigma Green Belt principles and methodology to historical data improved our unit's workstation and acquisition process at Notre Dame. By partnering with the Office of Continuous Improvement, our Academic and International Solutions team was able to significantly reduce the lead time and improve the efficiency of the internal work effort of our workstation deployment process. The resulting process improvement led to cost recovery in the form of technical resources that were then applied directly to the support of Notre Dame's academic and research mission.

OUTCOMES: Learn about the importance of trusting data * Recognize the value of listening to your customer * Learn how to apply the recovery of non-value-added time to your most valuable asset
