E-Mail Security and Delivery: The Game

Monday, April 10, 2017 | 10:00AM–11:00AM | Salon 5/8, Third Floor
Session Type: Breakout Session
Spam and phishing are represent a serious and growing security threat to the enterprise, and e-mail providers are enforcing new rules. How do we keep our users safe? Today most apps send e-mail, so how do we improve deliverability? This session will teach participants in layman's terms the meaning of the e-mail security acronym soup: TLS, IMAP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, S/MIME, and MDM. With no previous e-mail or security knowledge required, you will understand the protections and risks associated with these tools. Finally, you'll take this new understanding and a specific plan back to your campus.

OUTCOMES: Develop the ability to effectively communicate in technical and nontechnical terms the risks and benefits of different e-mail security tools, all while speaking intelligently on how to implement e-mail security tools
