Successful IT leaders recognize the importance of building effective working relationships across a diverse university in order to partner with university leaders to identify IT priorities, raise needed resources, and implement important initiatives. A process of shared governance provides a framework for building these partnerships. It also provides transparency to decision making and helps the CIO build important institutional support for critical initiatives. This session will explore the process of building relationships and support through shared governance and the tools of portfolio management.
