Critical Decisions and Essential Data
Wednesday, July 11, 2012 | 2:15PM–3:45PM | Robert E. Perry Room, Third Floor
Session Type:
Professional Development
In an era of increasing accountability, resource optimization, and financial pressures, CIOs must provide leadership in the enterprise-wide digitization and integration of business processes, data, information and decision-support. This session explores how we are moving more toward "data-driven universities" and how using these tools can lead to greater institutional effectiveness. In particular, the implementation of business analytics and business intelligence solutions and the adoption of program and project management offices are increasingly common. CIOs and IT leaders are expected to understand the context for integrated business processes and data, the requirements for analytics as well as the technology and support systems to achieve these goals.
Objectives:
- Explain the current state of using data in universities to achieve greater institutional effectiveness.
- Explore opportunities for using data and research to align IT strategy with institutional strategy
