Visions, Missions and Plans: Oh My!

Tuesday, July 10, 2012 | 9:00AM–10:30AM | Robert E. Perry Room, Third Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
The IT leader needs to maintain an institutional view to effectively address campus-wide goals and expectations. Developing and executing an institutional strategic planning process for the IT organization can function as a pathway through - and rendering of - the multiple and often-conflicting views of what technology should and can do. The ability to facilitate a campus conversation about technology's role, to manage expectations, and to accurately reflect technology's value are critical components of sustaining an IT vision, mission, and strategic plan.

Objectives:

  • Discern institutional conditions and processes for use in leveraging an IT vision, mission, and strategic plan.
  • Reflect on opportunities to design tactical and strategic approaches to achieve IT goals.
