IT Policy and Security: Who Ya Gonna Call?

The CIO is responsible for managing risk of data loss, service disruption, and reputation risk in a constantly changing, increasing perilous world. This session will articulate the responsibilities of the CIO for establishing an assurance framework that delivers the level or protection appropriate to the risk tolerance of the institution.

Objectives:

  • To understand risk and how to communicate it in business terms to executives.
  • To reflect on the role of the CIO in determining risk and the appropriate level of investment to mitigate risk.
  • To articulate the critical components of a robust, IT assurance program that covers policy, security, privacy, business continuity, and education and awareness.
