Session Type: Professional Development
As we help faculty and students effectively integrate technology and transform teaching and learning, occasionally ethical issues will arise. During this session we will work through an ethical dilemma associated with copyright as it relates to the development of course materials developed for online delivery. How can instructional technologies address ethical issues without undermining the respective roles of students and faculty members?

Objectives:

  • Provide a concrete example of the way in which ethical issues may arise in the course of integrating information technologies into curricular or research projects.
  • Prompt discussions about effective ways of addressing ethical issues.
  • Prompt discussions about decision-making authority as it relates to course development.
