Session Type: Professional Development
Building strong relationships with peers and work partners is an extraordinarily important dimension of doing quality work that we are proud of and that produces good outcomes. Effective leaders work strategically throughout the institution to build and maintain social and business networks. Participants will gain a variety of strategies to manage all levels of relationships throughout the institution.

Objectives:

  • Participants will develop a broadened awareness of how professional relationships function - in gathering background and benchmark information, in understanding the need to create bonds with work partners, in helping to identify, prioritize and support work to be done.
  • Participants will consider how developing professional relationships are essential and contribute to a sense of collegiality and satisfaction in the job.
  • Participants will develop an understanding of the specific and context-determined interactions and relationships required of key campus constituents groups.
