Exploring Faculty Perspectives of Emerging Learning Environments: The Case of the Smartphone (Learning Technology)

Wednesday, January 20 | 11:00AM–1:00PM | Governor's Ballroom Foyer (fourth floor)
Session Type: Professional Development
With anytime, anywhere access to the Internet at our fingertips, a wide array of communication options with location-aware capability and an ever-growing collection of mobile applications and smartphones are generating shifts in expectations for connecting, collaborating, and learning. While these experiences are becoming more common, university faculty members are in the early stages of considering the educational uses of this technology. This session will focus on sharing the work of a group of faculty members engaged in a yearlong faculty learning community (FLC) exploring the use of smartphones to enhance teaching and learning.
