Pret-a-Porter Technology: Rebooting the Earlham College Study Abroad Program (Innovative Practice)

Tuesday, January 19 | 3:45PM–6:00PM | Governor's Ballroom Foyer (fourth floor)
Session Type: Professional Development
Many voices in higher education still view technology as a barrier to cultural immersion in terms of study abroad. This session will demonstrate why universities should reconsider the use of mobile devices and network connectivity to project study abroad experiences back to the home campus. Join representatives from Earlham College as they discuss assignments, technologies, and support issues involved in using inexpensive netbooks, digital camcorders, and microphone headsets throughout the fall semester 2009 France study abroad program.
