Workshop 02A - Instructional Technology Leadership Challenges: The Five Ps

Tuesday, January 19 | 9:00AM–12:00PM | Governor's Ballroom E (fourth floor)
Session Type: Professional Development
As recently noted in EDUCAUSE Review, teaching and learning with technology has jumped up the charts, rising in the past year from number nine to number five on the annual survey of top-ten IT issues: "The trend toward augmenting instruction with technology creates opportunities and substantial challenges for those who must respond to increasingly diverse and fluid instructional environments" (July/August 2009, 52). The instructional technology sector will prove critical to the innovation, growth, and success of IT over the next decade.

This workshop was developed by directors from four institutions who bring varied perspectives and successful strategies to bear on common challenges in the field. Workshop participants will actively engage the following topics: planning and piloting successful projects or programs closely tied to curricular objectives; promoting resources and services; partnering to further the academic mission and position for the future; and predicting opportunities and challenges.
