Sprint and Academic Technologies developers at the University of Notre Dame are partnering to explore how the latest 4G wireless technologies and open mobile development frameworks enable simple augmented reality (AR) use on college campuses. The newest Android OS mobile devices allow deployment of context and location-aware AR applications, which can be used by students, faculty, and campus visitors to interact with physical objects and buildings around them overlaid with virtual information relevant to their immediate needs to create new educational experiences.
