Collaborative Learning and Transmedia Teaching (Pilot Program/Emerging Technology)
Monday, February 14, 2011 | 3:45PM–6:00PM | Concourse Foyer and Crystal Corridor
Session Type:
Professional Development
In this session we explain, demonstrate, and discuss a course we co-teach at the University of Oregon that uses the WordPress MultiUser platform as a framework for creating a dynamic, collaborative environment for student-teacher interaction. Our design of the course embraced WPMU--in addition to tools such as Diigo, RSS feeds, Evernote, and media-sharing services like YouTube--in order to facilitate co-creation of course content in an open educational context. In addition to describing the course, we will explore our collaborative design process and demonstrate how it maps to open education principles.
