Georgia Southern University needed to be capable of deploying and updating software into labs throughout an academic term along with being able to monitor the use of the computers. To solve problems with licensing, mobility of classes, special events, viruses, updates, conflicting versions of software and many more, a mix of Microsoft SCCM, VMWare ESX 4, VMWare Workstation, Microsoft Application Virtualization, and Microsoft Forefront were deployed during the summer of 2010 to replace existing technologies in order to make computer labs and classrooms dynamic in capability.
